Today’s (1st April) recipe is Liver Sausage Pineapple, from 1953’s Better Homes and Gardens New Cookbook.

Everything retro is cool isn’t it?

The recipe is not too tricky.

50g of liverwurst mixed together with a ¼ cup of mayonnaise, Worcestershire sauce and lemon juice.

Shaped around a jelly mould and set with gelatine.

Then make some pineapple-flavoured icing, stud the iced shape with stuffed olives and top ‘‘with a real pineapple top’’.

Easy. Delicious? Healthy?

This recipe from the 1953 Better Homes and Gardens New Cookbook, it is arguably the worst recipe ever published.
